Artist Help No. 4 – Outsourcing Tasks

By Habicht Music | Productivity

In this blog post I want to write about outsourcing certain tasks. As soon as you start running a small business you will realize there are hundreds of tasks to do. It is is not only the music, tasks like advertising, marketing, graphic design, investments, answering emails, maintain social media channels, backup data, uploading songs to music plattforms, improve the website and so on…

back when I started my company I was always scared to outsource work. I wanted to be responsible for all decisions and I did not want to invest money. But after I used https://www.fiverr.com the first time I realized that it’s pretty comfortable and cheap. And I have learned that executing tasks fast is the key to move forward. There are 3 websites I will link for you to check out. the first 2 websites I used to hire freelancers.

Fiverr is the world’s largest marketplace for digital services. A service offered on Fiverr is called a Gig.

While many Gigs start at $5, sellers have the option to choose their starting price point. Sellers can even offer multiple prices ranges by using Gig Packages. With Gig Packages, they can offer buyers’ different service packages for different prices.

On Upwork you’ll find a range of top talent, from programmers to designers, writers, customer support reps, and more.

  • Start by posting a job. Tell us about your project and the specific skills required.
  • Upwork analyzes your needs. Our search functionality uses data science to highlight freelancers based on their skills, helping you find talent that’s a good match.
  • We send you a shortlist of likely candidates. You can also search our site for talent, and freelancers can view your job and submit proposals too.

1. Post your project

It’s always free to post your project. Invite our freelancers to submit bids, or browse relevant freelancers and make an offer. You’ll have replies to your job within minutes!

2. Choose the perfect freelancer

  • Browse freelancer profiles
  • Chat in real-time
  • Compare proposals and select the best one
  • Award your project and your freelancer goes to work

3. Pay when you are satisfied!

Pay safely using our Milestone Payment system – release payments according to a schedule of goals you set, or pay only upon completion. You are in control, so you get to make the decisions.

You may not the best graphic designer or website developer, so don’t be scared to invest some bucks to hire people which are experts in their field. In case you are not satisfied with the work of the freelancer simply quit working with him or her and hire another one!

Try it – you will be surprised how easy and helpful it is to outsource work!

Hope this helps to make a step forward in your career.

Artist Help No. 3 – E-Mail Marketing

By Habicht Music | Allgemein

I learned about email marketing 3 years ago and I realised that it is an efficient strategy to follow up with your subscribers, promoting your business. A subscriber can be a customer or a potential customer. But how it works? And which steps I need to take to use it?

  1. You have to create a so called “landing page”. This is a website page with an opt-in form where you offer a free gift which you think people could like to get their email address in exchange.
  2. To gather and manage all the email addresses you need to choose an email marketing software. There are many good solutions on the market and some of them are free to start. The cost of the software depends on the amount of subscriber you have in your account.
  3. After realizing the technical part you are able to start sending messages to your email list. You can send them an introduction message about you and your services, promotions, special deals, more free stuff or surveys.. it’s important to be creative and build a solid relationship to your list. Don’t make the failure and bombard the subscribers with sales pitch after sales pitch.

Sending messages to 1’000, 10’000 or even 100’000 people the same time is really powerful. The software shows you the open-rate, click-rate of links you included and so on.

Here is a list about some email marketing services/software:

Here is the link to my landing page, I offer 20 Free Beats for free: http://www.habichtmusic.com/20freebeats/

Opt in forms can also be implemented in blog posts, as widgets, lightboxes, ribbons and so on. Another topic is how to drive traffic to your landing page and opt-in forms? You can pay for traffic or create content. Facebook Ads are pretty cheap, Youtube Videos with the link of your landing page in the description or information cards, promote it on your social media pages and so on..

That’s all for this blog post. If you need help to create your 1st landing page or do you have any other question please send me an email to inf0@habichtmusic.com.

Thanks for reading my 3rd blog post and stay tuned for more!!

Artist Help No. 2 – Music Studio for under $1500

By Habicht Music | Music Studio

Hey fam

Today I want to write about affordable music equipment and where you can buy it. I will not write about expensive high end gear. Nowadays you can buy pretty high quality equipment and pay around a total of $1500 for a whole music studio (without computer).  Here is a list of what you need to record music including product suggestions:

Software (DAW = Digital Audio Workstation):

To produce and record your music professionally you need to buy a music software. Here are my personal top 5.

  1. Logic Pro X (Apple) https://www.apple.com/logic-pro/ (only for Apple Mac Computer)
  2. Studio One  (PreSonus) http://www.presonus.com/products/Studio-One
  3. Cubase (Steinberg) https://www.steinberg.net/en/products/cubase/cubase_pro.html
  4. Live (Ableton) https://www.ableton.com/en/live/
  5. Pro Tools (Avid) http://www.avid.com/pro-tools

Condenser Microphone:

To record your vocals you need a condenser microphone. This type of microhone is different to a dynamic microphone (which you can use to perform live on the stage).

  1. Rode NT1-A  https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/NT1AAnniv
  2. Audio Technica AT2020 https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/AT2020
  3. Audio Technica AT4040 https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/AT4040
  4. AKG C214 https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/C214
  5. Sennheiser MK4 https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/MK4
  6. Neumann TLM 102 https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/TLM102

Audio Interface:

An audio interface is used to make good quality recordings on your computer. It is an external sound card with connections for microphones, guitars, speakers and so on. Common connection to your computer is USB or Thunderbolt (Mac).

  1. Steinberg UR22mkII https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/UR22MKII
  2. Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Scarlet2i2G2
  3. Behringer U-Phoria UMC204HD https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/UMC204HD
  4. Apogee Duet https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Duet2iOS (Mac only)
  5. Universal Audio Apollo Twin https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/ApolloTDusb (USB or Thunderbolt)

Studio Monitors (Active):

Studio monitors are regarded as possibly the single most important tool for achieving great sound.

  1. JBL LSR305 https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/LSR305
  2. Yamaha HS5, HS7 or HS8 https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/HS7
  3. KRK Rokit 5 G3 https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Rokit5G3
  4. Neumann KH 120 https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/KH120
  5. Adam Audio A7X https://www.americanmusical.com/Item–i-ADP-A7X-LIST

Studio Headphones:

Recently I bought Audio Technica ATH-M40X headphones and I’m really surprised about the quality and sound (only $99).

  1. Audio Technica ATH-M40X https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/ATHM40x
  2. Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/DT770pro
  3. AKG K240 https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/K240S

I think this is pretty much all you need to start. Don’t think more expensive equipment will automatically bring you higher quality sound. Start with mid price equipment and spend more time with recording, mixing, listening, adjusting… Some people they have the best equipment but they don’t know how to use it. you know what I’m talking about.

Let me know if you have any questions, I will try to help you to find the right equipment for you.

Artist Help No. 1 – Artist Website

By Habicht Music | Website

Hi, this is my first blog post.. check it out

Most important to start a music business is of course your Music and the Quality of it. But even you have the best music in the world, without your own website you are lost. There are so many possibilities when creating and having your own website:

– Provide content whenever you want and present it how you like
– A website is the center of your own “little” online empire
– Turn your visitors into customers
– Do product launches / offer special deals
– Be independent and not relying on other websites
– and so on

I created my 1st website in wordpress and I’m still a big fan. After searching for the best theme/solution I came across www.thrivethemes.com. Thrive Themes offers a toolbox full of WordPress themes and plugins, it’s an all in one solution for online marketers. I’m not an affiliate for this product but I can really recommend it. Everything works smooth, stable and updates coming in high frequency. Here is a screenshot to see what you get as a Thrive Member. You can also purchase the single plugins.

To install WordPress check this page: https://wordpress.org/
If you are looking for other WordPress themes check this link: https://themeforest.net/

Btw. my website was built completely with Thrive Themes.. check it out here: http://www.habichtmusic.com/
I hope this helps, let me know.
